License fees for Pivot Point are not based on transaction fees or seat fees. CATEX determines license fees based on "bands" of premium volume generated per licensee and contractually commits to a stable, predicted fee for the client.
On one end of the scale the pricing bands enable CATEX to offer value solutions to even the smallest broker, MGA or reinsurer. The "software as a service" nature of the Pivot Point System enables CATEX to extend system operations to any prospect globally at a relatively low incremental cost. Individual customization and system featuring is done as part of the license cost.
On the other end of the scale the pricing bands allow CATEX to provide solutions to even the largest brokers, MGA’s and reinsurers globally and to negotiate a fair price for them based on system usage. CATEX believes that inherent in its responsibility as a web based solutions provider is the need to match its fee schedule to the client’s system usage.
Web based systems allow real time system response for clients and real time response by system developers. We do not believe that we can tout the advantages of real time responsiveness afforded by the web and stick to "old world" pricing structures set by legacy systems developers. Our cost structure and business model are different and more fair.
